Categories of information we collect

The categories of personal information we collect depend on how you use the site. They may include:

  • Identifiers, such as name, email address, phone number, account login, and company name.
  • Commercial information, such as products viewed, cart contents, project selections, quotes, order requests, shipping addresses, and order history.
  • Professional information, such as account type, contractor type, licensing status, and distributor affiliation when you provide it.
  • Internet and electronic activity, such as pages visited, device and browser type, approximate location derived from IP address, referring URLs, and timestamps.
  • Payment-related information handled by our payment processor, such as the fact that a checkout was started or paid. Projekt Supply does not store full payment card or bank account numbers.
  • Inferences used only to operate the service, such as pricing eligibility based on account type and approval status.

Sources of information

We collect information directly from you, automatically from your browser or device when you use the site, and from service providers that help us host, secure, process payments, and send email. We may also receive information from our staff during sales, fulfillment, or support.

How we use information

We use information to operate and secure the website; create and administer accounts; show catalog, pricing, and project tools; process carts, quotes, and orders; calculate applicable account pricing; communicate about orders, accounts, and support; prevent fraud and abuse; keep audit and tax records; improve product data and site operations; and measure site usage, product interactions, and ecommerce activity through Google Analytics.

Cookies and similar technologies

The website uses first-party cookies and similar technologies that are needed to run the service.

  • An HttpOnly authentication cookie keeps you signed in after login or registration.
  • An HttpOnly cart cookie remembers a guest cart for up to 90 days until checkout is completed or the cookie expires.
  • Google Analytics 4 (Google tag measurement ID G-CMH1W7B74C) sets first-party cookies and similar identifiers to measure page views, product and cart interactions, checkout starts, and completed orders. Projekt Supply does not use those measurement cookies to run third-party advertising or remarketing campaigns.
  • Administrative and representative accounts may require additional verification before privileged access is granted.

Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

Some browsers send Do Not Track (DNT) signals. There is no uniform industry standard for responding to DNT. Projekt Supply does not currently change first-party essential cookies, account sessions, or cart behavior in response to DNT, because those cookies are used to operate the site rather than to advertise across other websites.

If your browser or extension sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we treat that signal as a request that we not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not sell personal information and we do not use third-party advertising cookies or cross-site tracking pixels on this website. Google Analytics described in this policy is used for first-party site and ecommerce measurement, not for selling personal information or running third-party advertising.

Third-party collection and service providers

We use companies that process information on our behalf or that may collect information directly when you use their services through our site.

  • Hosting, database, object storage, and security providers, currently including Google Cloud, to operate the website and store operational data.
  • Payment processing, currently Stripe. If you pay online, Stripe collects payment details directly on its checkout pages under Stripe’s privacy policy. Projekt Supply receives payment status, limited customer details, and order identifiers needed to fulfill the order.
  • Email delivery and business communications, currently Google Workspace / Gmail, to send account, order, and support messages.
  • Embedded media. Some product pages may include YouTube or similar video embeds. If you play or load an embed, that provider can collect information according to its own policy, including cookies set by that provider.
  • Website analytics, currently Google Analytics 4 / Google tag (measurement ID G-CMH1W7B74C), to measure page views, product interactions, cart and checkout activity, and order completion. Google processes this measurement data under Google’s policies. Projekt Supply does not send customer names, email addresses, phone numbers, payment details, or street addresses to Google Analytics.

Sharing; we do not sell personal information

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We may disclose information to service providers under the previous section; to manufacturers, freight carriers, or other fulfillment partners when needed to quote, supply, or ship an order; to professional advisors; or if required by law, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a business transaction such as a sale of assets. We do not use independent advertising, remarketing, or cross-site advertising pixels. We do use Google Analytics 4 to measure first-party website usage and ecommerce activity, as described above.

Uploads and project content

Public customers can save named projects, product selections, notes, and related order or quote details. Catalog images, videos, specification files, and similar assets are uploaded by Projekt Supply staff, not by public shoppers. Do not submit confidential information unless it is needed for a project or order. Staff may review project and order content for support, fulfillment, security, and operations.

Retention

We keep information for as long as needed for the purpose collected, then delete or de-identify it when we no longer have a business or legal need to keep it. Typical periods are:

  • Account profile data: for the life of the account, and for a limited period after closure while we complete a deletion request or resolve disputes.
  • Guest carts: while the cart cookie remains valid, currently up to 90 days, or until checkout is completed. Inactive guest carts may be purged.
  • Projects and saved product selections: until you delete the project or we close or delete the associated account, except where that content is tied to an order we must retain.
  • Paid and submitted orders, invoices, payment records, shipping addresses, and related tax/business records: as required for tax, accounting, warranty, freight claims, fraud prevention, and legal records, typically several years.
  • Security, audit, and abuse-prevention logs: for a limited operational period unless a longer period is needed for an investigation or legal requirement.

Deletion, accounts, and files

There is no self-service “delete my account” control on the website today. This is how deletion currently works:

  • If you own a project, you can delete that project in the application. Deleting a project removes that project’s name, notes, line items, quotes, collaborators, and attached bid or order-request records from the live application.
  • Cart-checkout orders that are not attached to a deleted project remain in our order records.
  • Administrators can hide an account so it can no longer sign in. Hiding an account does not erase the account, orders, or history.
  • Public users do not upload catalog media files. Staff-uploaded catalog files remain part of the product library.

How to request deletion or access

Email privacy@projektsupply.com to request access to, correction of, or deletion of account-associated personal information. Please use the email address on the account and include “Privacy request” in the subject line. We will verify the request and then deactivate the account where applicable, delete or de-identify profile data that is not required for legal or business records, and retain order, payment, shipping, tax, and similar records as required by law. We may decline or limit a request where an exception applies, including records we must keep for tax, accounting, warranty, freight claims, fraud prevention, or other legal obligations.

Your choices and California privacy rights

You may decline to create an account and still browse the catalog and, where available, check out as a guest. You may request updates to account information by emailing privacy@projektsupply.com or sales@projektsupply.com.

California residents may request that we disclose the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected; the categories of sources; the business or commercial purposes for collection; the categories of third parties to whom we disclose personal information; and that we delete personal information, subject to legal exceptions. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights. Authorized-agent requests must include proof of authorization and enough information for us to verify the consumer.

Children

The website is intended for adult business and residential lighting customers. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact privacy@projektsupply.com and we will delete it.

Policy changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will change when we do. For a material change, we will post the updated policy on this page and, where appropriate for account holders, provide additional notice such as an email to the address on the account or a notice on the website. Continued use of the site after the updated policy is posted means the updated policy applies, except where a separate consent is required by law.
