How to Read EMCOD Model Numbers
Decode supported EMCOD MPN segments by family. There is no single grammar for every prefix and suffix.

MLE60-24DC-P is a current MLE-P catalog model. The segments below are verified for this electronic constant-voltage grammar. They are not a universal decoder for every EMCOD SKU. Source: EMCOD catalog record
- MLE — Family prefix for the MLE electronic driver line. Combined with -P it identifies the MLE-P J-box series.
- 60 — Wattage class: 60 W on the catalog record for MLE60-24DC-P.
- 24DC — Nominal 24 V DC output notation. Contrast with 12DC on MLE60-12DC-P.
- -P — MLE-P series suffix. It is not the same control set as -UD.
Supported contrast: 12DC vs 24DC
MLE60-12DC-P keeps the same family, wattage class, and P suffix, with 12DC instead of 24DC. That is a different output voltage, not an alias of MLE60-24DC-P.

Families that do not use the same grammar

After you decode the supported segments, still verify these on the current specification and installation documents for that exact MPN:
- Input voltage and frequency
- Output topology beyond what that family’s grammar actually encodes
- Dimming / control methods
- Enclosure, location rating, and listings
- Physical dimensions and mounting
- Whether the exact MPN is still in the current catalog — look it up

If you are identifying an existing EMCOD model or checking whether the exact model is still current, use the EMCOD Replacement & Model Lookup. This page does not invent substitutes, rank similar wattage classes, or label a missing catalog match as discontinued.
Common questions
Does every EMCOD model number follow the MLE60-24DC-P pattern?
No. Electronic constant-voltage MPNs such as MLE60-24DC-P often encode family, wattage class, 12DC or 24DC, and a suffix. ECC-UD, ESL, EMT, EGP, accessories, and cables do not use that same grammar.
What does the P in MLE60-24DC-P mean?
On the MLE-P series it is the J-box family suffix. It does not mean the same dimming set as UD on MLE-UD, ECV-UD, ES-UD, or ECC-UD.
How do I check whether my exact model is still current?
Use the EMCOD Replacement & Model Lookup with the full label MPN. If the exact current catalog model is still available, no replacement is required. Catalog absence is not evidence that a model is discontinued.
